In 1890, in a small village of Maurienne in Savoy, Joseph Opinel invented the pocket knife that today bears his name. Today, Opinel is still run by the descendants of Joseph Opinel and manufactures quality items in the heart of the Alps, in Chambéry. The collection is composed of knives and pocket tools for DIY, sports, outdoor activities, gardening as well as kitchen knives and finger guards for children.
