Celebrate the groundbreaking legacy of the Connection Machines CM-1/CM-2, the world’s first commercial artificial intelligence supercomputer, with this 100% silk scarf designed by Tamiko Thiel. Originally developed by W. Danny Hillis at Thinking Machines Corp., the CM-1/CM-2 was the fastest computer globally in 1989 and was inspired by the complex network of the human brain. It featured 65,536 1-bit processors across 4,096 chips connected in an innovative 12-dimensional Boolean hypercube network, a concept influenced by Nobel laureate Richard Feynman.

Tamiko Thiel, along with designers Al Hawthorne and Gordon Bruce, brought the machine’s internal "cube-of-cube" structure to life, with transparent panels that allowed the glow of 4,096 red status LEDs to create the appearance of a “living, thinking machine.” This design influenced future aesthetics in technology, from Steve Jobs' NeXT Cube to AI advancements seen in modern computing and Google’s search technology.

This elegant silk scarf encapsulates the iconic design and legacy of the Connection Machines, highlighting the intricate red lights patterns symbolizing its computational prowess and innovation.
