Discover the limited edition print by South African artist Igshaan Adams, created for his acclaimed “Weerhoud” exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield in 2024. This signed print captures the energy and creativity of Adams’ groundbreaking project.
The exhibition, whose title means “Withheld” in Afrikaans, explored how lived experiences and trauma shape the human psyche, emphasizing the healing power of movement.
This print was inspired by Adams’ collaboration with the Garage Dance Ensemble in Okiep, South Africa. During workshops, raw canvases were layered with acrylic paint and silica sand, then dancers performed on top, leaving unique marks on the undersides a technique Adams calls “monotypes.” This single print allows collectors to own a tangible piece of Adams’ innovative fusion of art, movement, and collaboration.
