Images from the press which have been seen all over the world –
La Pietà du Kosovo (by
Georges Mérillon – Gamma, 1990),
La Mort de Mohammed Al Dura (from a photogram by
Talal Abou Rahmeh, 2000) and the
Madonne de Bentalha (by
Hocine Zaourar – AFP, 1997) – have been an inspiration for
Pascal Convert. Coming from the
Mudam Collection, the three wax sculptures highlight the symbolic power of images, questioning their political and aesthetic dimension as well as their impact on construction, memory and oversight in history. The
monograph Lamento comes with two documentary films.
