Presented in spring and summer 2013 at Mudam Luxembourg, the exhibition Pensive Images was centred on the complex relations, special each time, which inextricably connect image and memory, and drew its inspiration from the work of the German author W.G. Sebald. Rather than being a ‘catalogue’ of the exhibition, the present publication, edited by Mudam Luxembourg, extends into a space that was also its point of origin: that of the book.
