1. How do you define your concept / style / brand?
Each collection is the transformation of objects that are hidden in our daily life into an extraordinary design. Especially nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and incredible beauty. Sketches, drawings and photographs are always the basis of each print, to create an artistic, often abstract work. A symbiosis of pattern, colour and fabric. The prints are designed to inspire, to refresh the mind and bring happiness to an often stressful lifestyle.
The bespoke dresses are inspired by nature, the beauty around us and the history of the bride-to-be. The dresses sometimes include prints that are a mixture of watercolour drawings, photographs and ink strokes. I am always looking to create individual dresses for brides who are looking for a special experience, unique and elegant dresses.
In the art of couture, the material plays the most important role. The material comes to life with everyone who wears a garment. Fabrics take shape using different sewing techniques, either more rigid or fluid with draping methods. Fabrics can even have a dimensional effect with the modern methods of digital printing, which turn a design, an idea into a wearable fabric.
They are made of silk qualities, cottons, laces or embroideries. Each creation, no matter if it has prints, if it is more classic or more extravagant, is feminine and flowing, unique and elegant - designed and made in Luxembourg.
2. What are the responsible values, actions that your brand conveys? Why are they important to you?
In May 2015, I received the MADE IN LUXEMBOURG label, underlining that the product is not a mass product. The fabrics are mainly bought from Europe and England and I try to integrate more and more eco-responsible and recycled fabrics next to natural fabrics. My latest creation, a pair of summer trousers, is made from recycled plastic bottles.
Nowadays, responsible values are an asset. There is so much waste these days that it is important that as designers we make products that have a long life and that the customer still likes to wear in many years.
3. Which of your creations do you like the most? Why do you like it the most?
It's hard to say, in general I'm always looking for new ideas and creations. For the moment I like my last creation, a print made on 100%rPet (recycled fabric) with which I created a summer pant that can be ordered by mail on half size, this creation changes a little the spirit next to the scarves and dresses.
4. Tell us your story, your link with Luxembourg ?
My link with Luxembourg is very simple, as I was born and raised in Luxembourg. After my studies I worked for a few years in Paris and was lucky enough to work for a Korean designer in Seoul for 3 months. After my return to Luxembourg I started to realise how lucky the country is and especially the beauty and diversity of nature here (especially in the whole Mullerthal region), as I live in this region, it inspires me every day again.
5. Give us a story on the “Made in Luxembourg”
A typical fact for Luxembourg is the size of the country and then also the possibility to sell my products to public people. Sometimes I see my scarves afterwards on TV, in pictures in different magazines or even people contact me, to let me know that they have found my products in newspapers. It makes me happy to see that customers recognise my products.
