Cosima von Bonin's new book Songs For Gay Dogs is at once a book about the work the artist has produced in the last two decades, and a personal look into Cosima's world. The book is introduced by Bettina Steinbrügge, Director of Mudam, followed by a play written by Estelle Hoy that gives life to Cosima von Bonin's recurring characters and a text by Clémentine Proby, who writes about Cosima's work in relation to the carnivalesque, its inversion of hierarchies and value systems. A further chapter of the book, titled Privato, gives the reader a look into the artist's personal archive. The book includes 200 illustrations, including previously unseen images and pictures of the artist's newly commissioned installation in Mudam's Grand Hall.
